Does trimming your hair make a difference?

Does it help it to grow? How is it healthy? Is it even healthy to trim your hair? Or is it just to cut the split ends to make your hair look better? Hmmm...

How often is it good to trim your hair, if necessary? What the soonest you should trim your hair AND the latest? I usually don't like to trim my hair because I am trying to grow it out. But I trim about an inch or two off every so often because I get tired of looking at my split ends.

One more thing, what all causes split ends? I'm guessing the dryness of the air. Is it healthy to comb your hair more than usual to spread the natural oils in your hair? Comb or brush is better for your hair? I think comb for long hairs, but I'm not sure.

it's good to trim your hair every 6 weeks. it's good to get a trim because it cuts off the spilt ends.

Does trimming your hair make a difference?

Yes trimming your hair, especially if you straighten it, cuts out the dry ends of the hair and grows back healthier "new ones". I guess you can say. So your doing yourself a favor.

Comb your hair is it causes less hair to break and lose strands of your hair. Thats all I know.. =]

Does trimming your hair make a difference?

trimming your hair DOES make a difference because if you dont trim your hair the split ends will keep growing up. Also if you wanna stop the split ends you should probably use a soft bristle brush. Most people use a plastic bristle brush... Also wat else you can do is use the "prevent split ends" conditioner

its good for growth, it gives your hair a bit of a fresh end to grow on, its like cutting stems on flowers :)

Does trimming your hair make a difference?

Trimming does not help your hair grow. It will make it seem like it... if you don't get trims your split ends will get longer and break off, making your hair seem like it doesn't grow as quickly. It's healthy because removing split ends prevents breakage.

You should get a trim about every 6 weeks.

Combing or brushing your hair excessively causes it to break and damages it... so that "Brushing your hair 100 times a day helps it grow" is a complete myth.

Just comb or brush your hair as you normally would. Whether a comb or brush is better really just depends on the type of hair.

Does trimming your hair make a difference?

trimming your hair does help it to grow. when you get split ends, hair will not grow. really. so yes, its healthy to trim hair. trim hair every moth or month and a half. when you comb/ brush your hair (it doesnt matter which one. they are both the same) when your hair is wet, it will cause split ends because it stretches the hair. i do not know what causes split ends.

Does trimming your hair make a difference?

Trimming your hair doesn't cause it to grow more quickly; that is a myth. However, trimming your hair does cause your hair to look more healthy. It not only cuts off the split ends but, as your hair grows, it doesn't all grow at the same rate; so, trimming your hair every month or so will assure that your hairs are the same length (unless you like layered hair).

You should get your hair trimmed every 6 weeks or whenever you start to see a lot of split ends. Even if you get a couple of inches trimmed off of your hair every six weeks and it takes longer for your hair to grow out, you'll have more healthy looking hair while you're growing it out.

You're right about what causes split ends, at least partially. Also, after washing your hair, you shouldn't roll it up in a towel like most women do and you should brush it with a widely-spaced comb to keep from breaking hairs. Start at the bottom of your hair and slowly work your way up, if you come across a tangle, don't tug at it, slowly brush at it with a comb and use a detangler and it will work it's way out.

And, to answer your question about showering daily. When you shower, you clean off all of the natural oils your body has produced for your hair just to put synthetic oils back onto your hair in the form of conditioner. You can still shower daily if you want healthy hair, just don't use shampoo and conditioner every day.

Yes, it is a great idea to have your hair trimmed regularly. When you have split ends one of the first things that a stylist will recommend is a haircut. If your ends are split, then your hair can't grow very well. At some point it will stop growing and you may experience a lot of breakage. Basically trimming your hair keeps it healthy.

Split ends are usually caused by styling. Many of us do a lot of things to our hair - curling, blow drying, hair coloring, the environment - these are all things that effect hair. Everyone's hair is different because we each have different processes when it comes to our hair. Some of us need more maintenance than others, but I would suggest that you trim your hair every other month or so - depending.

Some people do was their hair everyday and have always done so and their hair is fine. In theory it's not a good idea to wash your hair everyday because constant washing robs your hair of its natural oils.

I've always been told that brushing your hair once a day is a good idea especially if you make a habit of going from root to end. Brushing is good for cleansing and stimulating your scalp. It helps to distribute your hair's natura oils. What is important is that you choose a good brush with the proper bristles for your hair type.Soft bristles are usually best for everyone because they tend to cause less damage to hair follicles.

Combing, in my opinion, can be good for certain types of hair and can be very good for detangling wet hair.

Regular grooming is essential usually once a month.

I believe a mild hair shampoo and a good conditioner.

I would suggest you see a hair dresser or chemist shop to get professional advice.

if you are letting it grow, get it trimmed every 6-8 weeks. on average hair grows 1/2" a month. it is important to get the ends trimmed for a few reasons. 1. it makes it look healthier and eliminates tangles. 2. it removes the split ends which will travel up the shaft of your hair which causes breakage. your hair grows from your scalp, so the ends of your hair are the 'oldest' stands on your head, so you need to care for them. split ends are caused by styling tools, such as blowdryer, flat iron, curling iron, or just brushing it when it's wet. never brush wet hair. use a wide tooth comb when wet. when you brush your hair, brush from the scalp down with a natural bristle brush, this stimulates the oil glands which will moisturize your hair. If you get your ends trimmed atleast every 6-8 weeks, u shouldn't have to cut 2" off each time. If you care for it properly, a 'micro' trim is just fine for someone letting hair grow. If you use a round brush on your hair, get one with a silicone center. it glides through without tangleling up. good luck
