Broken, Damaged, Oily, Frizz Prone Hair! PLZZZ HELP!?!?!?!?

My hair has a massive amount of broken hairs and split ends from ripping through it with a brush as a kid. My hair is also oily at the roots, but i don't want to dry it out too much because its not very moisturized at the tips. Lastly, my hair is very frizz-prone. I can't air-dry my hair or else i get an afro (not a pleasent site), but my hair is very damaged from the heat of blow-drying. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!

What i do to take care of my hair already:

-wash hair with Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control shampoo and conditioner (i just switched from damage repairing to frizz control recently)

-comb conditioner through hair with fingers/leave in for 3 min/wash out

-put Redken Guts 10 mouse in hair/comb through hair with wide-toothed comb

-blow dry

-straighten (my hair is naturally straight but my hair curls up slightly at the ends/my side-bangs always wave)

PLEASE HELP!!!

OK....here's what I suggest since you straighten your hair.

I'm not a big fan of Pantene products but if they are working for then stick with it but I find they tend to dry out my hair. I like Paul Mitchell Super Skinny to help smooth out damaged areas. I'm also a huge fan of FrizzEase. When applied correctly (on wet hair before anything else using a good bit of the product) it works great! It's great for straightening because it doesn't let your hair react to humidity which is why your hair waves back up after straightening. I use the orange one for heat protection and if there's a Big Lots in your area go there first to get the FrizzEase Hair Serum. Last time I went they have it for $2.50 and a pack of two for $4...this stuff sells for $7+ at walmart. I also use the finishing cream for my bangs and when I pull my hair up because it smoothes out the fly-aways and doesn't flake or get hard like hair spray. But only use a pea-sized amout or it will make your hair go flat...really flat! Also found that Sunsilk De-Frizz is working pretty good...I'm still on my first bottles of that but so far I'm satisfied...and it's much cheaper than the Super Skinny but that stuff is worth it!

OK. start by taking a break from all the heat! i know you said that you're hair poofs when you let it air dry, but even just a week of no heat will help. just put it up in pig tails or a pony (pigtails seem babyish, but if you them right, they can look totally stylish). then, buy a deep conditioner (neutrogena makes a great one) and do that once a week. then keep using the frizz control shampoo/conditioner but other than that, no product. just let your hair take a breather. it will begin to look and feel better in no time!

try leaving some of your conditioner in your hair all the time. i know it sounds strange, but try it on the ends. it will help moisturize them and protect them from heat. do not leave it on your roots if they are oily though. just give it a try and it should help. i have really frizzy curly, and it helps my frizz calm down totally!!

okay okay!

try:

Dove's Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

Garnier's deep conditioning treatment once or twice a week.

Victoria's Secret So Sexy Straightening Balm. it works amazingly, and has thermal protection, so even after you blow dry and straighten, your hair is silky smooth.

i use all three. and i have the same hair issues as you! but, you might want to get your ends trimmed.

Since you hair is damaged... you need to get it cut because you cant bring hair back to life. Since you hair is very oily drink 8 glasses of water a day, if you wash your hair every other day or more than that, try washing your hair more. Switch to dove shampoo and conditioner. When and if you do i recommed getting a bob. Its cute and in style and it would get rid of the damaged hair and all you need to do to keep it looking great is a rould(barrel) brush and a blow dryer.

You should get the ends of your hair cut. Just get a trim to help it look healthier. You hair sounds like it is long, so maybe you should get it cut shoulder length, if it's not there already. Another thing, don't use Pantene, it's not good for your hair. I used to use it myself, but I've found that Aussie is a whole lot better and it's not expensive.

You should also get a serum to protect the ends of your hair, it will help greatly. I would recommend Biologe, you usually find it at a salon, but it's worth the money cause it works and lasts awhile.

put some vegetable oil on your hair, cover it up with a shower cap, and wait for abour 45 mins. you`ll have smooth and better hair !

STOP! o.k. now first... go to the salon and get the dry ends cut off. It doesn't matter if it will be too short... hair grows fast, especially healthy hair. Now, this is tougher, find yourself a good old fashioned brush. Not one of those hard bristled, rounded ended things. a good soft brush. I have one that does a 1/2 spiral, but any soft bristled brush will work. Then, seriously, part your hair in half. so you have 1/2 on the right side and 1/2 on the left. Now, bush the right side for 50 strokes. if you have trouble with knots, work them out slowly with your fingers by pulling only a few strands at a time out of the knot. keep brushing by starting at the very top of the part and finishing all the way down to the end. this will bring the oils from your head down to the ends where they are dry. repeat this procedure on the left side. remember... don't pull out your hair! Keep this up for at least a week before giving up, you will see improvement. for the poof... I swear by Sunsilk hairapy antipoof (the blue bottle). make sure you put this on while your hair is still wet or it will make it look greasy.

1) Use head and shoulders for oily hair-this will take all the greece out of your hair but still keep it healthy looking.

2) Make sure to condition the ends of your hair very well- or get stay in conditionar.

3) Trim all the dead ends off your hair- get a good 2 inches off the bottem of your hair.

4) When blow drying your hair use a brush to calm down your frizzyness.

5) Get some smoothing hair products or use moose/hairspray to spray down your fly away hair.

6) Straighten your hair- this will keep it smooth and under control.

Hope this helps :D

Don't straighten your hair. Egg whites, oil massages can improve your hair. More home remedies available at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/dryhair.html

Stop straightening your hair, it might not look good without straightening, but straightening causes frizz. You do not have to dump straightening your hair completely. Just stop doing it for a week or less until your hair looks healthy to your desire.

I don't know if you can, but if you go to a salon buy Bio Silk, it moisturizes your hair, but it will give a oily look if you add to much.

Don't comb your hair with your fingers, I suggest a comb that has fine long bristles.

Do not blow dry your hair, at least for a while, it also causes frizz. :3
