How can I get my hair straight so it doesn't come up during the day?

I'm a guy with black hair.

I put "maximum hold" hair gel on in the morning, however two hours later I look like Einstein (no offense to the science community). Or worse, the second I put on a hat and take it off it looks like I have never combed my hair.

So, I'm wondering is there a particular hair gel or shampoo or treatment that I could buy? I want my hair to look decent.

they have antifrizz and smoothing shampoos...also make sure to use a little conditioner because that helps weigh your hair down...if you wear a hat you could put a dryer sheet inside to decrease static

if your hair is wet...not damp but wet when u put it on...it may do that. and i wouldnt use maxium hold...because you probably have short hair and dont need that much. use some gel that is Strong. it should say strong on it. maxium hold gel..with wet hair can mess up your hair...in the day...it looks really messy. so i hope what i told you helps.
