About Deep Hair Conditioning....?

Is it okay to leave deep hair conditioning treatments on for 24 hours at a time? I used to deep condition my hair, comb it through, pull it back and wear it like that all day and night, then start over again the next day, sometimes for the entire weekend. Then I heard that this is actually bad for the hair. That it "dries" it out. Is this true???

I don't think you have to condition everyday like that occasionally is fine....there is such a thing as messing with your hair too much. I'm a lisenced hairstylist... have been since 92...Good luck...

I don't know. This girl who is studying in a beauty school told me to put conditioner on my hair for 5 minutes before shampooing. She said it makes your hair nicer.

well im a hairdresser and i sometimes leave conditioner on my hair for days, but dont do it everytime i wash my hair, no it will not dry your hair out, give your hair a break though and just do it once a week x

About Deep Hair Conditioning....?

It's not going to hurt yout hair at all, but to be honest, 24 hours is no better than 10-15 minutes with some heat or 30 minutes without heat. The conditioner can only condition so much before it's lost all of it's potency. Your best bet is to just put it on, throw on a shower cap and warm it up with your blowdryer or wrap your hair in a warm towel from the dryer. The heat helps open the cuticle on your hair enough to allow in maximum moisture in a short time.

The worst that can happen with too much deep conditioning is that your hair gets too heavy and possibly greasy looking. You should probably shampoo with a clarifying shampoo before you deep condition to remove any product/conditioner build-up. Your hair will thank you :)
