As I was combing my hair one day i noticed one very long strand of hair i pulled it to c how long it was and it stopped to my waiste. It was not a popped strand because i pulled i could feel the pain in my head where the strand was burried in. why were the other hairs on my head to my shoulder except for that one strand?

it is weird but.. when you try holding a strand and pull it down... to your surprise.. the length increases.. but when you pull a bunch of hairs together.. you wont see any difference.. that strand which was till your waist must have been pulled by something....
just my idea though...

I had the same thing happen to me, although, I inspected it very closely, and apparently, somehow, one strand of my hair tied itself to one other strand of hair, with a knot so small, it was hard to spot. It was really cool, I thought.

this is weird however in my opinion (am a hairdresser!) it sounds like you may have had one strand of hair that had a huge amount of elasticity... hence it stretching sooooo much!! lol. Just cut it off!!
